The Not-So-Cool Smokies

Labor Day weekend was going to be a long, lazy weekend for us. But of course, the McDades can't sit still long! At the last minute we called our favorite campground in the Smokies and lo and behold, someone had just cancelled for the weekend so we got a prime spot on the river. It was still a long, lazy weekend, just not as cool as we had anticipated. It was in the 90s every day we were there, so to avoid some of the crowds we stayed in our nice, cool, air-conditioned camper during the day and ventured out in the evenings. This helped with naptime too! Gracie had a blast, as usual. The child has fun no matter what she's doing! She went swimming with her arm floaties for the first time and did great! Sorry, no pics of that, I didn't carry the camera to the pool or lazy river to keep it safe. We invaded a nearby hotel's lazy river! Shhhhh...don't tell! It had a waterfall coming into it and Gracie thought that was the best thing since sliced cheese! She sat in her baby float while Scott and I were in the tubes. We hit the outlets on Friday before the crowds got there, went to the Apple Barn not once but twice!, and rode the trolley into Gatlinburg (not something I'll ever attempt again! at least not Labor Day weekend!)

You didn't think she'd go the whole weekend without finding a slide did you??
